TuxTalk

Wispr Flow or Superwhisper on Linux?

Neither has a Linux version yet. Here's what they do well, and what you can use on Linux.

Neither one runs on Linux

Wispr Flow is on the Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android. Superwhisper is on the Mac, Windows, iOS and Android. Both are good apps, so if you've used one on another computer and want the same thing on Linux, I get it.

What they do well

Wispr Flow is very polished. Its AI cleans up what you say and matches the tone of the app you're in, it knows over 100 languages, and it syncs across your devices. It does that in the cloud: your audio goes to Wispr's servers, with a privacy mode that keeps it from being stored. There's a free tier of 2,000 words a week on the desktop.

Superwhisper's free tier runs Whisper on your own machine, with custom words, and Pro adds more models, AI "modes" for things like email, and file transcription.

TuxTalk on Linux

TuxTalk is free voice dictation for Linux. You hold F8, talk, and it types what you said into whatever app has the focus. It runs on your own computer with NVIDIA's Parakeet or OpenAI's Whisper, offline, and it can use an NVIDIA, AMD or Intel graphics card. It works on KDE, GNOME, Sway, Hyprland, Cinnamon and other X11 desktops, with no keyboard shortcut to set up in your desktop's settings.

Nothing you say leaves your computer, and there's no word limit and no subscription. It doesn't have their phone apps, their device sync or Wispr's cloud AI. Its own AI is small, optional and local: it catches "no wait" corrections, and in TuxTalk Labs you can say "edit that, make it more formal" right after you dictate.
